Biological Laboratories, was honored with the ICON Honors Award during a ceremony at the Hyatt Place/Hyatt
House Allentown, where recipients were recognized among colleagues, business leaders, and community
members. Krug was selected by a panel of three judges from among several applicants to receive the prestigious
2025 ICON Honors Award, which recognizes distinguished business leaders over the age of 60 who have
demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional achievement, and meaningful impact on the Greater Lehigh
Valley region.

About Gregory Krug

Gregory F. Krug founded LAMPIRE Biological Laboratories in 1977 and has served as President and CEO for nearly five decades. Under his leadership, LAMPIRE has grown into an internationally recognized biotechnology partner, employing more than 200 professionals across Bucks, Bedford, and Lehigh Counties. His vision has strengthened Pennsylvania’s life sciences ecosystem through job creation, facility expansion, and global product distribution rooted in local innovation. A passionate advocate for education and workforce development, Krug actively mentors students from high schools, technical programs, and universities throughout the state.
Krug provides internships, research opportunities, facility tours, and career guidance through partnerships with Delaware Valley University, DeSales University, WB Saul High School, Upper Bucks Technical School, and others—helping students connect classroom learning to real-world biotechnology careers.
