GOVERNOR SHAPIRO VISITS BEDFORD

What a great day in Bedford County! LAMPIRE was proud to be part of Governor Josh Shapiro’s first stop to announce the PA SITES grant awards—held right here in our own community. Our President & CEO, Gregory F. Krug, who also serves on the Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) Board, was in attendance and had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with both Governor Shapiro and Rick Siger, Secretary of the PA Department of Community & Economic Development. The Governor spent time engaging with the audience and spoke about the importance of investing in rural communities like Bedford. As part of the $64 million awarded across the Commonwealth, Bedford County received a $2.8 million grant to develop Areas I and II of a 151-acre site into the Bedford County Business Park III—a meaningful investment in the future of our region. We’d like to extend a special thank-you to Bette Slayton, President & CEO of BCDA; Jeff Crist, BCDA Board Chair; and the entire BCDA team for their leadership and dedication to making this project a reality. In addition, we were pleased to welcome Michael O’Rourke, Eric Bitar, and Michael Gerber from DCED Team PA to our Everett farm and laboratory on Friday, May 9th. Their visit was a valuable opportunity to explore ways they can be a resource and partner in supporting LAMPIRE’s continued growth.

We’re proud to support this heartfelt cause and bring some extra brightness to these families’ holidays!

TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY @ LAMPIRE

LAMPIRE had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Bolden-Tiller and Dr. Diaz from TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY for a productive working session on Friday, March 14th. Their visit highlighted the importance of our educational initiatives and hands-on experiences that help shape the next generation of scientific talent. Two students from their ‘Try It Out’ program spent a week at our facility to get a feel for the job, and we’re excited to welcome them back this summer for a full internship experience.
